Vinayaka Missions Medical College,
Pondicherry was opened in the year 1996. The
institute is situated in Karaikal, Puducherry/ Pondicherry.
The college is managed by Vinayaka
Missions, a charitable Trust. The college is associated to Pondicherry
University from the year 1996 and recognized by the state government.
The institute has gained the
approval of Medical Council of India (MCI), New Delhi.
The College offers Bachelor of
Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) course of 5½ years duration, including
the 1 year of internship.
The institute is fully equipped with
all basic infrastructural facilities. It is aimed at imparting quality medical
education and producing skilled health personnel with social values.
Admission Criteria:
Eligibility conditions on age,
qualifying academic program(s), marks etc are given for each of the program of
admission under respective head.
The schedule of events concerning
the admission for the various programs for the upcoming year of admission is
prepared well in advance as per the recommendations of the admission committees
and publicized widely in news dailies and the University website, inviting
application from eligible candidates.
The eligible candidates are enabled
to take the CEEs at opted centers. The questions are of objective type
based on minimum syllabi expected to be covered normally by the various
universities / boards pertaining to the respective qualifying examinations at
all India level. There are negative marks for wrong answers in the case
of PG programs. Candidates who take the CEE are ranked according to their
marks in the CEE, breaking the ties, if any, as per prescribed norms.
Candidates who have obtained above a
cut off mark in CEE are called for counseling, in the order of their ranks, and
offered seat and institution of admission, subject to availability, eligibility
and reservation, if any. Subsequent round(s) of counseling will be
conducted if necessary.

Examination for various courses offered by Vinayaka Missions University will be
conducted at various centres throughout India by Vinayaka Missions University.
The details of various examination centres and dates of examination will be
notified in the national newspapers. The details will also be available in the
Vinayaka Missions University website.
Documents to be submitted
at the time of Admission:
The following documents should be
produced in Original along with one set of photocopies at the time of
admission.
- Mark sheet of the qualifying examination.
- Pass certificate of the qualifying examination.
- X std mark sheet or certificate (for Proof of Date of Birth)
- Transfer Certificate
- Migration Certificate
- Community Certificate
- Joint declaration by applicant and parent as per format.
- Four copies of Recent Stamp size color photographs
