Adichunchanagiri Institute of
Medical Sciences (AIMS), Bellur
was come into existence in the year 1986 by the then honorable Chief Minister
of Karnataka, Sri Ramakrishna Hegde in the holy presence of Padmabhushana
Dr.Sri Sri Sri Balagangadharanatha Maha Swamiji.
The institute aims to provide
medical education to aspiring students from rural areas. Earlier the institute
was under Mysore University and now it comes under the purview of Rajiv Gandhi
University of Health Sciences (RGUHS).
The institute is premier rural
educational institution catering to the health needs of the rural populace in
preventive, therapeutic and rehabilitative domains beside teaching and training
for Undergraduate (UG) of MBBS and Post Graduate (PG) students.

intermediate (10+2) in science with more than 50%marks. Surgery is essentially
the process of utilizing instrumental techniques on a person by the doctors for
investigating as well as treating a pathological condition, for instance
disease or injury.
