Siksha 'O' Anusandhan, Deemed to be University, focuses on Multi Disciplinary aspects of learnings by commitment towards quality teaching and Research Programs. The seed of the group’s educational enterprise was found in 1996 by starting of the Institute of Technical Education & Research (ITER), Faculty of Engineering and Technology, and the evolution in the last 15 years has been the birth of other institutes in Medical, Dental, Nursing, Management, Hotel Management, Pharmacy, Biotechnology and Law. The group of institutes was grouped under a University structure since 2007. The University is socially inclusive with an open admission process through its National level test SAAT and other National level tests such as AIEEE, AIPMT, CAT, XAT, MAT, CLAT etc. The university’s academic offerings include undergraduate, graduate and research programs. All these programs have academic rigour, and periodic up-gradation of curricula in order to keep the students up-to-date of contemporary development. The placement record of the university students, both UG and PG, is a testimony to the acceptance of these processes by the market. The Research programs of the university have been reinforced from 2007 onwards, are also showing steady progress. The Ph.D. regulations have been framed to keep in line with regulations of reputed institutes like IITs. The number of full time scholars is increasing continuously. Commensurate to this, the university is establishing new centers and advanced facilities in existing departments to promote research. The university is committed to these activities to much higher levels in the coming years. The university also supports large number of research projects of faculty members by in-house funding. The steady growth of facilities, the ambitious growth taken, and setting up of research centers serve as catalyst for the University to move towards the path of excellence. In the path of the building up and strengthening the university, the leadership of the management and academic teams are taking all steps required in the right directions. The growth and change paradigms do put strong pressure on the university yet the path of progress has remained on the right track. Some of the directions are visible by promotion of research activity, constant revision of academic curricula, transparent and strict valuation, increasing number of collaboration with other institutes. |
